More Price County Fishing Updates
The Sno-gypsies snowmobile club held their annual fisheree this past Saturday on Butternut Lake.
Cold air temperatures and a high pressure system greeted anglers fishing the early morning hours. The temperatures warmed throughout the day but the fishing success didn't. I talked with anglers, many who brought their families out for a day on the ice and the attitude of many was that the fish were not biting like they wished.
Walleye anglers struggled throughout the day. Some anglers fishing for pike had success but the fish were on the small size. Some crappies were caught but anglers were constantly moving to get a few fish.
The weatherman is predicting some changes as a few low pressure systems will be in the area this week and may bring some snow. This may help the bite as the air temps are predicted to warm also.
