Price County Fishing Report August 15, 2012
By Professional Guide John Carlson
Water temps are dropping from the mid-80s down to the upper 60s to mid-70s on all area lakes. This week Ross's Sport Shop guides targeted Bass and Musky. The Musky are going on Double 8 and Double 10 bucktails. The surface bite is also picking up again for Musky.
Largemouth Bass are very active and we did really well on frogs in the weeds on the sunny days that we fished. If you haven't “frogged” for Bass you have to try it. It’s some of the most explosive and fun fishing that you can find in northern Wisconsin.

On a Smallmouth trip on the Flambeau we had some pretty fast action but the size was running small. Most of the fish were running 10 to 14 inches. We were using Tubes and also weedless jigs with leeches.
I'm excited to see what fall has to bring us. We have had a pretty good season here and if fishing picks up this fall like it should there will be some awesome fishing to come.
