Price County Perch and Gills Make Trip Worth It
By Professional Guide John Ross
The walleye bite has slowed a bit on Phillips Area Waters but the bluegill and perch action is making up for it! Ross's Sport Shop Guide boats are still bringing in nice mixed bag catches. Were not bringing in limits of walleyes but we are pulling a couple of nice eaters every trip and adding some quality gills and perch in with them. Crawlers and Leeches are still the go to baits.
Catfish action is great now that the water levels of the Flambeau have dropped back down to a fishable level. Try using crawlers or cut bait on a river rig in the evening for cats.
Musky action is still good for our Guide boats as well, we are seeing a lot of fish and starting to catch some more quality musky. Pictured is a 45 inch release that Ross's Guide John Kleczewski released over the weekend. The fish ate a Lake X Lures "Dr. Evil". We are seeing fish on a wide variety of lures including Dr. Evils, Soft-tail Phantoms, Suicks, and double 8 bucktails.
