Hot Fishing in Price County for Musky, Walleye, Jumbo Perch
By Professional Guide John Carlson
Walleye fishing is still going strong in the Phillips Area. Our guide boats are still getting limits of walleyes on most trips out and we are also catching some bonus jumbo perch and big bluegills. We are fishing leeches under slip bobbers in 10 to 18 feet of water around any wood structure. We are also getting them on half of a night crawler on a small jig or a floating lindy rig.
Our boats are also putting musky in the net. We are fishing tight to weed and wood cover using Suicks, Phantoms, and Lake X Dr. Evils. If you’re not getting hung in the cover you’re not getting tight enough. Most of the fish on the Suick or Phantom are coming as we are ripping it free from the weeds.
Pictured is a Tiger Musky that a Client caught while fishing with me Wednesday on a Fire Bass colored Suick.
