Price County Fishing Report 10-18-12
By Professional Guide John Carlson
The water temps are hanging in the mid to upper 40's this week. Most fishermen are reporting catching a lot of small walleye with a few nicer eaters. The walleye are moving deeper in the lakes and customers are finding them in 20 to 30 feet of water right now. A jig and fathead minnow are still the bait of choice for most fishermen.
Crappie action is great. Look for the Crappie in the deepest areas of the lakes a few feet off the bottom. Drift a small jig with minnows or plastics or use under a slip bobber.
Musky action is still going strong. The sucker bite is getting better but we are still having great action on weighted Suicks and other jerk baits. Natural colors seem to be best. Look for the musky on the deeper breaks in the lake.
