1/14/15 - Reported by Long Lake Bait & Tackle
Fishing on Long Lake has been good if you were brave enough to withstand the frigid cold, hopefully in a heated ice shack! Folks have been catching some nice sized Northern and Walleye using suckers and shiners both jigging and on tip-ups. They seem to be hanging around the 20'depth range. Lots of smaller bluegills, and some nice crappie 12"+ in the 10-12' depth range jigging with Waxies and crappie minnows. Reports of a few Perch as well. Most folks have been going out after 3p.m. when the temps were a bit warmer. We are expecting a really nice warm weekend for the DNR Free Fishing Weekend this Saturday &Sunday, so bring the family out and enjoy the day fishing! We'll have plenty of bait and snacks on hand!
1/12/14- Reported by AAA Sports
Despite the cold weather, we have had some really nice fish brought in. Shiners for the northern and walleyes, lots of jigging lures being used for the walleye and crappie. Rapala Jigging spoons, Acme Kastmater 1/16 oz., rocket spoons, Northland rattling buck-sots in 1/8 and 1/16. We had guys on Spooner Lake several days last week that caught northern, perch, crappie, and sunnies. Bashaw Lake was producing a lot of average size pan fish almost every day that someone fished there. Jigging with waxies, no particular color. We a have heated shack available on Spooner Lake. To reserve it, call AAA Sports Shop:715-635-3011 or Rick:715-520-2793 Also, the 28th Annual Barronett Ice Fishing Contest is this Saturday on Shallow Lake. We have tickets for door prizes and a cash raffle for sale.
