Green Lake Fishing Report

By Professional Guide Dennis Walker

BIG GREEN LAKE UPDATE; With all the quiet hot weather and very little wind this past week has warmed up the water. The mid-day temp. is 70*- 72* over the deep water and 75* -77* in the shallow water. Also the water is very clear you can see bottom in 20 feet of water and down 30 feet over the deep water. But there are a lot of weeds and crap on the surface that can make fishing tough if trolling, casting, ect.

FISHING REPORT;

LAKE TROUT: has been very good but there are some days that you have to find the biters. There are more fish moving into the deeper water as it warms up in the shallows. Best setup for the trout is a dodger and minnow fished slow and close to bottom. Good depths have been 50 to 100 feet.

BASS LARGE & SMALLMOUTH: The Largemouth are in the shallow waters by weeds and docks. Spinners, tubebaits been best. Smallmouth are in the gravel and rocky shorelines. Tubebaits small crankbaits best. These fish are spawning and should be released with care at the point of catch.

WALLEYE: The Walleye bite has been very good. Look for them over and next to weedy areas next to dropoffs. Spinners, crankbaits trolled or slip bobber rig fished with leechs or crawlers will work. The bite is on and off during the day and best later in the day.

NORTHERN: Are in or next to weeds looking for baitfish. Live chubs or crankbaits may work. Stay in 15 to 30 feet of water. If trolling go slow and fish close to bottom.

WHITEBASS: There are still wihtebass showing up on the east end by the Inlet Bridge. Also out over the deep water. Spinners and small hard baits been working.

PANFISH: Mainly Bluegills are showing up in the shallow bays and backwaters. There has been reports of some nice Bluegills coming from the Dartford Bay area.
