Crappies Action Warming Up In Richland Center

By Wayne Morgenthaler

Crappie Fishing Richland Center WisconsinFishing is picking up with crappies starting to be very aggressive on area lakes.  The backwaters are alive with waterfowl and the lily pads are starting to pop to the surface.  It won’t be too long before the male bluegills will be coming into the shallows. We finally got that much needed rain and now the morels should be coming out. Trout streams were very low but now they are way up for a few days.

During the first season of the turkey hunt just concluded the birds were very active.  There has been moderate success throughout the county.  A good place to get information is to stop in at the Visitor Center which is currently open from 8 to 4, Monday through Friday and ask for maps. They can also line you up with local guides.  They are located on Hwy 14 in the middle of Richland Center and just look for the railroad car and station.
