Great fishing in the Central Wisconsin are the past few week. Walleyes have been very active and we are picking up quite a few trolling Shad Raps in 6 to 10 feet of water. The bass action has been very good with lots of fish congregated around shallow rocky structure. A good bet for taking the bass is top water Chug Bugs and Zara Spooks worked slowly across the shallow structure.  Crappie anglers are really piling up the fish with lots of 10 to 12 inch crappies being caught along with some 12 to 14 inch slabs. Most of the fish are being caught by slip-drifting over areas containing schools of crappies. Spider rigging light jigs tipped with minnows or plastics is the best way to go.  The bluegill bite is good and we are we are catching some nice fish in the shallow weeds.  But if you are looking for the big bulls they are hunkered down in submerged wood in 6 to 12 feet of water. These larger bulls can be caught by working a small weedless jig tipped with a piece of crawler right on the bottom.  Action for muskies is very good with great action on both topwater baits and bucktails. A lot of the fish have been holding along the deep weed edges but we are seeing some nice fish associated with shoreline wood and submerged structure as well.
