The local anglers have been catching some nice sized Northern’s at the Hot Pond. Fishing right off the docks has been good and the Smallies are biting all the time!!!Panfish have been plentiful on the inland waters. Fishing Guide Roger LaPenter at Anglers All Bait Shop says the water still is murky and clay like at this time. We need the water to clear. The fish are there just waiting for the bait!!!. It looks like the Small Mouth Bass fishermen are still in heaven with Bass Fishing!!!. Roger likes to fish for Smallies using a 5inch Grub. Along the Shoreline the Northern fishing has been very good. There have been reports of some Trout and Salmon in the Bay by the Breakwater. A lot of panfish have been caught at the Marina Breakwall. Sunrise is the best time for catching fish in the shallow waters. Anglers have been mainly fishing for Trout and Salmon on the outside of the Bay, starting around the old Coast Guard dock and working all the way out to the Islands. The Walleyes are biting at the head of the Bay and Brush Point. Anglers are using crawler harnesses and stickbaits and also coasting along the shoreline with stickbaits. Fishing Guide Jim Hudson is reporting the Small Mouth Bass are biting like crazy right now. Fishing is really good now and Jim predicts a really good summer for fishing. The water is still clay-like in color and It won't change right now due to the recent rain. As soon as the rain quits the water will most likely start clear up.
