It appears the participation in fishing has slowed up a bit now as anglers are anxiously awaiting the upcoming ice fishing season. There still are some anglers casting along the shorelines for Trout and Salmon, but it seems most outdoorsmen and women are busy in the woods right now with hunting season.
It should be a good ice fishing year on Chequamegon Bay with lots of activity from Browns, Walleyes and Coho’s.
The Ashland Chamber of Commerce welcomes all the visiting Anglers to Ashland, Lake Superior's Hometown. It won't be too long before the ice starts forming on Chequamegon Bay and the Inland lakes for Ice Fishing Season. Look for great outdoor savings during "Black Friday" on November 23rd and "Small Business Saturday" on November 24th. Anglers and Hunters will enjoy a day of browsing the many stores in Ashland for ice fishing tents, lures, tip- ups, fishing poles and outdoor heaters to clothing, chocolates, homemade sausage and warm boots. Merry Christmas and happy fishing and hunting from the Ashland Chamber.
