Washburn County Fishing Report

Fishing this week around Washburn County has been a mixed bag of sorts. Crappies are shallow for spawning and are bitting on a variety of soft plastics in 1-4 feet of water. Smallmouth Bass likewise are in the spawning mode. We've caught and released some nice ones the past few days. Northern Pike are very aggressive most days in the shallows, crankbaits and jigs will catch plenty of them. Walleyes have been tough in my boat this week, lots of wind has made the jigging bite hard to do .
