Price County Fishing Report
Price County Fishing Report
The bluegill bite continues to be strong and I think it will go good right into the weekend on some area lakes. My clients and I have been taking advantage of this hot bite and selective harvesting some nice 10 fish limits, we must really be careful on how many of these fish we harvest at this time of year because they are at the peak of their spawn and they do stick around and guard the nest. Taking too many fish from areas at this time of year can hurt the population of the future. My clients have had the best luck using waxies on a small Aberdeen Hook under a float. The fish are really shallow and tight to cover so accurate casting is a must and you should also be prepared to lose a good amount of tackle.
Musky season opened in the north zone over the weekend and they were also very active. We had a lot of reports at Ross's Sport Shop of boats with multiple fish. One boat reported boating 7 fish on Saturday alone. The musky were super shallow and small top waters or bucktails were doing the trick.
Pictured are some of my clients from the weekend with their catch of Gills.
