Price County Fishing Report 8/5/14
Walleye action picked up in the Phillips Area this week, I had the pleasure to take clients out on a couple of walleye trips the past few days and we did well. We are catching more numbers then size right now but the action is great. We have been finding Walleye in 6 to 18 feet of water around wood. I have been using leeches under a slip bobber yet for walleye, I have also been doing well on Jacks Jigs and Slo Fall weedless jigs. The weedless design of these jigs helps keep you from getting stuck in the wood cover the fish are hanging in.
We have also been catching a good number of Crappie in the 8 to 11 inch range tossing most of them back. I have been looking for schools of suspended Crappie on my electronics and casting small plastics or beetle spins over them dragging the lure right thru the school. Most of the Crappie are hanging in the Basin areas of the lakes but are moving to shorelines in low light conditions.
Musky action has been fair, we have been doing good on some of the area rivers witch are less affected by weather. I have still been doing well using surface lures like the Lake X Cannonball Jr., but I'm starting to have more action with larger tandem bucktails. Most of the musky that we have been finding are on deeper weed cover.

“The goodness of a person and of the society he or she lives in often comes down to very simple things and words found in the Scout Law. Every society depends on trust and loyalty, on courtesy and kindness, on bravery and reverence. These are the values of Scouting, and these are the values of Americans.”
