Minocqua area fishing report
With the end of October, interest in fishing drops off. Anglers are still in pursuit of Musky. Some walleyes and a few crappie/perch fisherman can also be found. With water temps a bit above average (reports of 47-53 degrees) there is still plenty of time to get out and pursue your favorite fish.
Musky: Very good. By far the most action has been on suckers. Lots of multi fish days this past week. Still worth working gliders, jerks and twitch baits as well as slow moving jointed and plastics.
Walleye: Good-Fair. Deep water vertical fishing best on larger lakes. Probe 22-45’ depths using redtail chubs and black chubs or suckers. On smaller lakes and flowages, stick to smaller minnows and slowly drag through weed growth in 5-7’.
Crappies and Perch: Fair. Few reports. Most from anglers slip-bobbering drowned wood in 14-18’. Medium fatheads best choice.
While some low 30 degree mornings cooled lake temps, average highs this week in low 50’s should keep lakes at fairly consistent temperatures.
