7/29/14- Reported by Jim Stroede Guide Service

Fishing around Washburn County has been very good this past week.  Water temps on area lakes have been hanging around 70 to 74 degrees. I've been doing a lot of multi species guide trips and the action has been non stop at times.  Typically we're catching a mixed bag of walleyes, bass, pike, and panfish using a variety of methods.  Today we jigged up a nice mess of bass and crappies before trolling crank baits for a couple additional pike. Big fish for the day was a 33 inch pike, nice fish. Look for stable fishing to continue for the next couple weeks.

7/29/14 Reported by Long Lake Bait and Tackle

Pan Fishing on Long Lake has been really good!  Really nice sized Bluegill and Crappie. Lots and lots of Bass both large & small mouth too!  Walleye & Northern are biting as well! Folks are still using a variety of live bait from waxies, to minnow, suckers, worms, crawlers, and leeches.  So far we still have Pan fish, Medium to Large and Jumbo leeches in stock! Plastics and spinner baits are also working.  Fish are still at various depths anywhere from 3' - 20'.  Water temps remain in the low 70's due to the cool nights!  Come fish with us!
