Delavan Lake Fishing Report 4/19/14 through 4/26/14

After a long winter, Delavan Lake is finally opened up.  The water temperature remains very closed, it’s averaging between 44 and 48 degrees.  The warmest water is in the channels, where most of the active fish are.  Make sure that you realize that game fish season is still closed, opening day is the first Saturday in May.

The best action for crappies has been in Viewcrest Channel.  The best bait is small silver plastics fished on a small jig head. For bluegills the best location has been by Lake Lawn Lodge or in the Highlands Channel.  Bobbers and small ice jigs have been producing most of the action.  I’ve been fishing no deeper than 4 feet of water.

Good luck and I hope to see you on the water.  For guide parties, please call Dave Duwe at 608-883-2050.
