Chequamegon Bay Area Fishing Report, October 13, 2016

Anglers All, Located at 2803 E. Lake Shore Drive (U.S. Highway 2) in Ashland, is a full-service tackle and fly shop with a professional guide service for Lake Superior and area inland lakes and rivers, offering the largest selection of baits and tackle in the Chequamegon Bay area.  For the most complete and up-to-date fishing report, just give them a call at 715/682-5754, and they will gladly keep you informed!

Angler’s All reported:   Stream fishermen are catching cohos, Browns, splake and some steelhead on the tributary streams along with an occasional king.
Trollers are working the river mouths, the islands, the Washburn shoreline and the channel for the same species.
Smallmouth are starting to school in their fall areas like the breakwall, the rock pile and the tip of Long Island.
Walleyes can be found in the channel and the drop offs into the channel and closer to the Ashland shoreline at night and early AM.
Inland lakes report continued success catching Pan Fish, Bass, and Northerns.

River Rock Inn & Bait Shop, Located at 1200 W. Lake Shore Drive (U.S. Highway 2), in Ashland where you can stop in and see their wide variety of live bait, fishing tackle, gear, accessories, fresh and smoked fish, local cheeses, meats, and microbrews, and much more. Call them at 715/682-3232 for the most current fishing report.

River Rock reports: The water temps are a little warmer than usual for this time of year but the temp is dropping. The fishing seems to be on the same track as last week. There have been some Salmon and Browns being caught near the Islands and they have been a really nice size. The water temps should be dropping fast at this time of year.  Walleye has been good in the Bay this year, using Stick Baits such as Rapalas or Bombers or Crawler Harnesses.
Fishing the Inland Lakes has been great as the weeds die down and the water cools down. Muskies are starting to hit using Sucker Bait on the Inland Lakes.

The Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce, 1-800-284-9484, reports: Fishing is always a thrilling adventure in the Ashland area! Chequamegon Bay is famous for its world-class smallmouth bass fishing. The 12-mile-long bay’s rock piles and breakwater structures make for perfect bass habitat.
