Black, minority Trump supporters censored by Gannett, other media at 2020 RNC Convention. Expect the same as Milwaukee hosts 2024 RNC Convention. Look back four years Wisconsin, to compare and contrast Gannett’s corrupt coverage of the 2020 Republican and Democratic National Conventions to know what to expect July 15-18 when the nation’s eyes rest on Milwaukee, home of the 2024 RNC convention.  The DNC will showcase its conventi...

Central Wisconsin Outdoor Report

It has been a banner week in Wisconsin for big muskies with several over the 50 inch mark!  The rains have succeeded and the water conditions have leveled out. Water temperatures have finally reached the mid-70 degree mark and the fish are liking it a lot.

On Wisconsin Outdoors

We had several encounters with big Muskie this past week including Scott Lewandowsky and Mark Gillich picking up a huge musky coming in at 52 inches from a northern Wisconsin lake. I was out with Kevin Munson and we hooked into and landed the largest musky I have ever had in my boat to date. This big girl came in at well over 50 inches and had an incredible 25 inch girth!  Both fish were caught using different techniques and styles.  Scott’s fish came from deep water on a Lake X Lures prototype rubber bait and our fish came from shallow water on a Lake X Lures Fat Bastard which is a top water bait. It just goes to show you that you really never know where these fish are going to be.

On Wisconsin Outdoors

The walleye bite has been very good this past week with several nice catches of fish.  We have been working deep water along sharp breaklines with adequate structure like downed timber and stumps.  Jigs tipped with half a crawler have been producing the best for us but on a few outings we picked up some nice fish by using medium suckers as bait.

On Wisconsin Outdoors

If you are looking for action the crappie bite is about as good as it could get. We are working the main channel areas by spider rigging or with slip bobbers set anywhere from 4 to 12 feet down to cover the different depths.   Our rigs are baited up with a variety of baits ranging from jigs tipped with plastics to plain hooks baited up with different minnow combinations.

On Wisconsin Outdoors

Big shout out to Elk River Rods for being the rod of choice on both of the big muskies mentioned.  They worked flawlessly and handled both big fish all the way from setting the hook to fighting and landing both of these giants.  Than you Marc Marrone!

Have a great week,
