5/19/14 Price County Fishing Report

Walleye fishing has still been good for Ross's Sport Shop Guides, with the lowered daily bag limits on most of the area lakes it takes no time to limit out with nice walleyes. Our guides have been catching walleye in 4 to 15 feet of water depending on the lake we are fishing.  When we are fishing shallow we are looking for mud flats with wood, we are using the wind and drifting across the flats with bobbers and a minnow under it. We are also casting stick baits while we are drifting across the flats.

Wisconsin Outdoors

Crappie and Bluegill have moved shallow on most of the lakes, Look for the panfish to be holding in any type of wood structure where the shines on it most of the day, small bays that are protected from wind are best. We have been fishing Crappie with small plastics like sliders and peg legs under a float. If you prefer you can also use a small minnow.

Musky fishing opens this weekend, good luck to all the anglers on the water whatever species your are targeting.

Pictured is my client Joe with his and my Walleye limit from an area lake.

“The goodness of a person and of the society he or she lives in often comes down to very simple things and words found in the Scout Law. Every society depends on trust and loyalty, on courtesy and kindness, on bravery and reverence. These are the values of Scouting, and these are the values of Americans.” President George W. Bush
