3-18-14 Minocqua Area Fishing Report
It doesn't seem as though mother nature will let off her cold grip any time soon; we just can't get a break. Even though its mid-March, with plenty of hard snow cover and slush underneath, panfish are still relating to deeper water. However, catches have been good.
Crappie: Good- Very Good. Anglers have reported good success over the weekend over deep cabbage in 12-20ft. Waxies and plastics have been working as well as tipdowns with small rosies have been producing some real nice catches.
Bluegill: Good- Very Good. Rockers, glow moon jigs, and small tungsten jigs tipped with waxies, bloodworms, and chena over deep cabbage have been netted anglers some nice gills.
Perch: Very Good. Wigglers on 12-18ft weed edges have been producing good catches of jumbos. Tipping Vinglas, Lindy Frostee spoons, Fiskas or Skandias has been proving successful.
