Price County Fishing Report
Another open water fishing season is in the books for most area lakes. There still is some open water opportunity left on parts of the Flambeau and Elk rivers. Some real nice walleye are caught below the dams at this time of year for those of you that don't want to give up the open water rod and reel yet.
A lot of ice fishing reports are coming in from area lakes with some brave souls venturing out on 2 to 4 inches of ice. So far they have just been targeting the shallow waters for Walleye at sunrise and sunset when they move from the deeper water to feed. Medium sized Walleye Suckers or Golden shiners on a size 8 thru 12 treble or a #2 octopus style hook work well under a tip-up for early ice walleye. They are very spooky with the thin ice conditions so keep movement on the ice to as little as possible to help your success.
Some early ice anglers are also reporting some great pike action as well.
