First Fish of the Summer / 5-26-12
We haven’t been to our cottage in Vilas County since December. So the family was very excited to make the trip from Mukwonago. We arrived late Friday night. First time to the cottage is always interesting. Since we haven’t been there for five months you’ll never now what you’ll find. Everything was just as we left it, so we unload the truck. The next task is to turn the water back on. No leaks this year!
In the morning the grass needed to be cut and the dock put in. Now we get to fish! Sarah who is 9, was first to get her tackle box out and find her favorite lure. I tied the spinner on my bass rod because it had good line. We both went down to the dock and Sarah started to cast. After about three or four casts I was going to go back up to the cottage. Then Sarah said, “I got a fish!”
The Smallie came up to the surface and I knew it was a nice one. I yelled up to the cottage for the net and camera. My wife Traci and other two daughters Ami and Emma brought what we needed. Sarah reeled the fish in like a pro.
