Sturgeon Restoration on the Wisconsin River Video
Dear Winnebago Sturgeon Enthusiasts:
You may know that the Winnebago System has the largest naturally reproducing population of lake sturgeon in the world, but you may not know that there are numerous other active sturgeon restoration and management programs within the state of Wisconsin. One example is the program to rehabilitate the lake sturgeon population within the Wisconsin River, and the attached link will take you to a DNR video describing those efforts. Programs like this, in combination with our population and fishery on the Winnebago System, make Wisconsin a world leader in sustainable sturgeon management, something that our state’s fisheries managers take great pride in!
