Turtle Flambeau Fishing Report 9-28-12
By Professional Guide Jerry “Jerkbait” Hartigan
Fished Wednesday for a half day with Dave Wolf who was a first time walleye fisherman and had never really jig fished before. With sunny calm conditions it was a perfect day for Dave to learn, and he ended up doing well catching a bunch of walleyes and a few decent perch.
Overall we ended up catching close to 20 fish up to about 18 inches (All released) We got most of the fish in 12 to 16ft of water using weedless jigs and fathead minnows. Two of the best spots were deep drops with one coming offshore and the other going from 9ft to 18ft. I am heading back out today so I will fill you in.
My 11 year old son ended up getting a bear Saturday evening so I will send the story and a couple of pictures tomorrow when I have time.
