Price County Fishing Report 8-13-2013
Walleye and Panfish action remains great and they are still hanging in the same areas that they have been most of the summer. I am starting to do better with Minnows for the Walleye. Use Crawlers when you want action and go after a mixed bag of Bluegill, Perch and Walleye.
If you really want action right now try casting Weedless Spoons or Spinnerbaits along the weed edges for Pike. We aren't getting into anything huge but we are catching a good number of 20 to 30 inch fish and its great action for youth or new anglers.

Musky action is picking up and should continue to get better as the water temps drop into the fall. I have been doing well on weed edges using spinner baits and casting them right into the weeds and pulling them out; I have also done well using a glide bait like a Phantom and casting it right down the weed edge and working it slow along the edge keeping it in the strike zone the entire cast. Don't forget surface baits in the morning or evenings or anytime that the water allows you. We had a fish hit a Lake X Lure Dr. Evil on the surface at 11:45 am last week in the high sun.
