Price County Fishing Report 7-8-13
Fishing continues to be good in the Phillips Area even through the 4th's heavy holiday boat traffic. The lakes were really rocking and rolling and so were the fish, at times it was hard to hold on your fishing spot but all the trouble is worth it. We were getting a nice "Mixed Bag" of fish including Perch, Crappie, Bluegills, Smallmouth Bass, and Walleye all in the same area. We are fishing in 6 to 13 feet of water and using Leeches or pieces of Crawlers. For my son and less experienced clients I have been putting a chunk of Crawler under a slip bobber close to the bottom, Anglers with a little more experience I have been setting up with small jigs and a chunk of Crawler or Leech. The fish are hitting a little on the light side so you have to pay attention but the action is fast when you get on them.
The water levels in the North and South Forks of the Flambeau have finally returned to a fishable level, Reports of some awesome Smallmouth fishing have been coming in and also some good Channel Cat catches.
Pictured is my 6 year old son Chayton with his "Mixed Bag" of Crappie, Gills, Perch and a bonus Walleye that he caught on Sunday afternoon.
