Kewaunee/Door County Salmon Tournament

Day 7 Results — Friday, July 26, 2013

Bouncy seas, heavy downpours and threatening skies reduced fishing pressure Friday, but that didn’t stop K/D contestants from adding another 26 20-pound-plus fish the tournament scales.

With the final weekend still to play out, 303 chinooks 20 pounds and larger had already been weighed. The heaviest 40 fish are all 25 pounds and larger. That’s quite a contrast to 2012 when only 14 “20s” were weighed the entire nine days and there was just one fish over 25 pounds — the 26.2-pound winner.

Anglers could again be tested today. A strong cold front with northwest winds — and a chance for occasional showers and maybe even waterspouts — is in the forecast.

Entry fee is $25 for the final weekend, or $13 for a one-day shot. Tickets are available at the Kewaunee Marina, Algoma BP, Howie’s Tackle, 57 Depot, Kap’s Marina, Greystone Castle and Lakeshore Lighthouse.

Friday’s port prize winners

Baileys Harbor: Josh Crist, 25.77
Sturgeon Bay: Terry Dewane, 26.64
Algoma: David Drumsta, 25.74
Kewaunee: Steve Marohl, 25.01
Washington Island: Dan Gosda, 23.40
