Central Wisconsin Outdoor Report 8-9-13
Great panfish bite along with good numbers of walleyes and bass. The musky action has been steadily picking up with the cooler temperatures.

Action has been good from both crappies and bluegills along with some decent perch this past week. Most of the action has come from deeper mud flats associated with wood. The walleyes and bass have been quite active in both shallow and deep water and our best tactic has been running crankbaits early and late in the day by casting or long line trolling. Muskies have been hitting on big double bladed bucktails and jerkbaits during low light periods by working the channel edges of the river and deep weed lines.

Bear hunters are getting ready for the upcoming season and from the looks of things it is going to be another great year. Baiting has been going good with a lot of activity at night along with some good daytime activity too. Just last week one of my trail cameras recorded a bear "in the bait" within 2 minutes of me leaving the bait station. That tells me that they are watching the stations pretty close and waiting patiently for me to re-bait. I hope they decide to do that on opening day I will have some happy hunters.
Deer hunters gearing up for the fall season should think about planting their fall food plots right now, if they haven't already. August is a prime time to start "new" food plots that you want available for September and October hunting opportunities.
