Central Wisconsin Outdoor Report 6-6-13

Recent rains have water levels very high and dirty causing a lot of the river related fish to relocate to backwater areas. Walleyes have been very active in 4 to 8 feet of water following the recent rains. Jig and minnow combinations in non current areas has been the ticket this past week.  Bass action has been very good on the main lake areas where rocks are present. Jig and beaver tails and crankbaits have been the best producers. The crappies have been very active and we are still getting a lot of them holding in10 to 16 feet of water. Most of these crappies are coming on slip bobber rigs set up with tiny minnows, but we are getting a few on Beetle Spins as well.  The bluegills have started to move in to the shallows and can be targeted with a simple worm under a bobber.  Toss  the set-up right into shoreline structure and weed and wait for the bobber to go down.  Musky action seems to be improving with some nice fish being caught on bucktails and twitch baits. Work inside turns on the river system and weed edges in 3 to 8 feet on the main lake.
