Ashland Chamber Reports

The Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce report; Fishing is starting to pick up again and the anglers are pleased to see the water starting to clear up. Bay Days is coming July 13th through the 15th. This is a Home Town Festival that is fun for the entire family. What a wonderful time of year to come and visit, enjoy the festival at Bay View Park, and test the super fishing waters of Chequamegon Bay/Lake Superior. For more information on events and fishing in Ashland County or for an updated weather report, check out www.visitashland.com or call 800-284-9484.

Carolyn at Anglers All Bait Shop says the water is starting to clear up! Walleye Fishing is a little on the slow side right now, however, the bass are all over the Bay and biting like crazy! Lake Trout and some Browns are reported biting from the Flats to Outer Island. Some species are in the shallows early in the morning. In some areas in the stained water, you may have to fish 80 feet to reach 50 degree temps. The water temperature is warmer than most fish like to be in and warmer than most anglers like to fish in. Look for Inland Fishing to be great for the weekend. The Bass and Pan Fish have been biting all week. The bottom line is: (no pun intended) "As the water continues to clear fishing will improve".
