Northeast Wisconsin Sport Fishin’ Show Moves to Players Choice in Appleton
APPLETON –OUTDOORLIFE recently ranked Appleton, Wisconsin #1 in their annual feature “Best Towns For Sportsmen.” Coincidently, Northeast Wisconsin Sport Fishin’ Show is moving to Players Choice of the Fox Cities, located in Appleton.
The Fishin’ Show attracts thousands of fishing enthusiasts seeking information, products, and services devoted to their favorite sport. Sportsmen and women can browse rods, reels, lures, electronics, boats, motors and other gadgets and gizmos designed to fool a fish, or at the least, appeal to a fisherman’s fancy! The event has become a popular destination to stock up on tackle and accessories at exceptional pre-season prices.
With the Show also comes an entourage of the Midwest’s top anglers providing seminars on musky, bass, walleye, salmon, steelhead, motor trolling, river fishing, and much more! It’s the perfect cure for your cabin fever.
Speakers include walleye authorities Jason Przekurat, Scott Allen, Jeff Boutin, Justin Heider, Greg Wierzba, Ranger Rick Krueger, Jason Gaurkee, and Angler of the Year, Marianne Husky! Steve Mortenson and Mike Mladenik will cover bass tips and techniques. Ranger Rick Krueger and Chas Martin will cover musky opportunities in the state. Captain Lee Haasch will discuss new techniques for Lake Michigan. Don Easley will feature “Fishing the Boundary Waters for Dummies!
Marianne Huskey, Angler of the Year
Jason Przekurat is a full-time professional walleye fisherman from Stevens Point, Wi. Jason started fishing competitively in 1995 and has since accumulated many titles. The first came in 2000, winning the MWC World Walleye Championship on the Mississippi River and then in 2007 he won the FLW Walleye Tour event in Red Wing, MN. Jason is a 2 time winner of the prestigious FLW Walleye Tour “Angler of the Year” award. He won it in 2003 and again in 2007. He was also awarded the Ranger Cup title in 2007. Jason is the only angler to fish every FLW tournament since it started and has qualified for the FLW Walleye Tour Championship every year for a record 13 consecutive years.

Informational exhibits from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, US Coast Guard Auxiliary, Great Lakes Sport Fisherman and Aquatic Invasive Species Partnership will also be on hand to address concerns about the overall health of one of Wisconsin’s most important resources.
The trout pond is always a favorite attraction, with many a youthful angler landing their first fish at the event! This year there will be $1000 in tagged fish swimming in the pond. The top fish are worth $100 in the form of show money that can be used same as cash with any of the exhibitors.
We will be dispersing over $10,000 in door prizes throughout the weekend, including guided trips, rods, lures, electronics, and our grand prize of a Mercury 3.5hp 4-Stroke motor, provided by Mid-State Marine, Fremont
Friday night features a smelt fry for $10 from 4 – 8pm.
