Washburn County Fishing Reports

08/19/2015-Reported by Jim Stroede
Local heavy rains have put a damper on fishing here the last two days. Prior to that we've seen musky action steadily improve on Washburn County waters, some nice fish being caught on bucktails and topwaters mostly.Walleye fishing has been a bit up and down. One outing will go well and the next not so well, I guess that's just the nature of fishing! Overall the walleye, bass, pike and panfish bite has been good and consistent all summer.Good luck and good fishing, Jim Stroede

As we move towards the late summer, the fisherman are working a ltlle harder for their limit of fish. MUSKIE - we are starting to see the muskie fishermen getting into their time of fishng. We have the larger leaders all rigged out for the larger fish. We have not heard about the supply of Muskie suckers yet. WALLEYE  - Leeches continue to do well on a bright leadhead jig. Wally divers and Flicker shads are being used for the "diving" lures.-we SHOULD HAVE LEECHES THROUGH LABOR DAY.  BASS-  frogs  such as scum frog, or lunker heads or worms from powerbait and Havoc on a 2/0 or 3/0 weedless  hook where the weeds have taken over. PLEASE CALL IF YOU NEED ANY INFO ABOUT AREA LAKES, WE OPEN AT 6:00 am 7 DAYS A WEEK.
