Black, minority Trump supporters censored by Gannett, other media at 2020 RNC Convention. Expect the same as Milwaukee hosts 2024 RNC Convention. Look back four years Wisconsin, to compare and contrast Gannett’s corrupt coverage of the 2020 Republican and Democratic National Conventions to know what to expect July 15-18 when the nation’s eyes rest on Milwaukee, home of the 2024 RNC convention.  The DNC will showcase its conventi...

Sturgeon Spearing Daily Report: Day 8 February 20, 2016

Winnebago System Sturgeon Spearing Enthusiasts:

The 2nd Saturday of the 2016 sturgeon spearing season is now complete with a harvest today of 32 fish.  Stockbridge Harbor and Quinney were the busiest stations today each registering 9 fish.  I made a loop around the lake today, stopping at many of our registration stations, and there definitely have been a lot of shacks removed from the lake over the last few days with the warmer weather.  Throughout opening weekend, the southern end of the lake contained the largest concentration of shanties, but it appears that the areas out in front of Quinney and Stockbridge now contain the most shacks.  So it’s no surprise that these were the busiest stations.

The largest fish harvested today was 78.0”, 129.8 pounds and registered at Jerry’s Bar (Oshkosh) by Dale Gudden (photo below).  Dale’s fish is the 3rd heaviest fish speared this season, exceeded only by Daniel Bloesl’s 147.9 pound fish on Monday and Jeremey Witzel’s 131.6 pound fish on opening day.

Good luck to those spearers who will be out tomorrow.
