Price County Fishing Report
Fishing conditions were about as brutal as they get in Wisconsin last week with the combination of high winds, cold temps and rain/snow mix but the fish did bite. The water temps are ranging from 38 to 44 degrees in area lakes and the fish are moving into their traditional fall patterns. Walleye started to show themselves again, anglers were reporting catching a lot of smaller walleye with a few nice ones mixed in. The Walleye are sitting off the deeper drops in 15 to 30 feet of water depending on what lake your on and hitting mostly jig and minnow combinations. Crappie are sticking close to the bottom in the deeper areas of the lakes, don't be afraid to try a little bigger bait this time of year while your Crappie fishing as a lot of Walleye anglers are reporting catching some nice incidental Crappie catches. Most fishermen are using jig and minnow or jig and plastics. Musky action is good with the majority of the fish being caught on suckers. The Ross's Sport shop guide boats have been exclusively targeting Musky for the past month and this week was a good one for our Female Clients as Kristi and Hillary each boated their first Musky with guide John Kleczewski and Gretchen landed her first and second Musky with guide John Carlson.
