Video: The Epixor XT in action
The new Epixor XT reels feature Okuma’s C-40X long strain graphite fiber process to reinforce its Torsion Control Armor frame to reduce twisting and keep all internal functions aligned and smooth. Machined aluminum 2-tone anodized spool and rigid metal handle compliment the corrosion resistant graphite body and Cyclonic Flow Rotor design. The Epixor XT puts out over 22lbs of drag pressure. With superior line lay from Okuma’s new slow oscillation system, the Epixor XT makes for a great freshwater as well as light inshore spinning reel.

Scott Martin and Team USA take Silver at Black Bass World Championship!

Imagine fishing for bass in a completely different part of the world. Okuma Pro and Captain Scott Martin and the USA Bass Team did just that a couple weeks ago on the Vaal River in South Africa.

Despite a completely different ecosystem and difficult fishing conditions, Okuma Pro Scott Martin and Team USA managed to stay on the hunt and target spawning areas by sight fishing. They caught the majority of their fish on jerk-baits, jig, and finesse soft-plastic rigs on light line.

Although team USA was unable to conquer team South Africa due to their home field advantage, they managed to take 2nd place, securing the silver medal! A huge win for this group of talented anglers.

CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!

“South Africa was a great first step for USA Bass.  It showed just how competitive the sport has become. USA Bass will continue to field teams representing the USA for years to come,” U.S. Angling Vice President, Tony Forte said.

The Capital City/Lake Murray Country RTB USA Bass team will now be preparing to fish the 2018 Pan American Black Bass Championship on Lake Okeechobee in Clewiston, Florida, in February, and the 2018 Black Bass World Championship in Mexico later in the year.

Members included: Members included Lionel Botha, Fred Roumbanis, David Dudley, David Fritts, Scott Martin (team captain), Scott Canterbury, Mark Rose and James Watson

Savage Gear 3D Shad Rigging Techniques- How To
3D Shad Rigging Techniques with Mike Bennett
Shad are a foundational baitfish across bass, striper, musky and pike fisheries. While many rely upon small crankbaits to represent juvenile shad, anglers targeting trophy fish look to imitate full-sized adult shad to draw what could be their strike of a lifetime. The new Savage Gear 3D Shad combines state-of-the-art 3-dimensional scanning and Savage Gear’s ultra-realistic swimming action in 7- and 10-inch baits to target the largest fish.
