Deadline approaching (October 31) for purchasing sturgeon spearing licenses for the 2020 spearing season
Attention interested sturgeon spearers,
The license deadline for purchasing sturgeon spearing licenses for the 2020 spearing season is just two weeks away! The 2020 sturgeon spearing season on the Winnebago System will get underway on February 8, 2020 but spearers much purchase their license in advance of an October 31, 2019 deadline. The minimum spearing age is 12 years old. Youth who turn 12 years of age between Nov. 1 and the last day of the 2020 spearing season are eligible to purchase a spearing license after October 31. Military personnel home on leave can also purchase a license after October 31.
Licenses are $20 for Wisconsin residents and $65 for nonresidents and can be purchased by visiting GoWild.Wi.gov or any license sales location. To find a license agent near you, go to dnr.wi.gov and search key words “license agent.”
