Fishing opener video message from Sec. Stepp

Hello – Anglers just might get that chance to fish open water and ice fish on the opening day of the 2014 inland season. Next week I’ll work to get you a roundup of the latest ice/fishing conditions and license sales numbers and we’ll put out some safety reminder tips and an update on where we are with stocking of catchable trout.

In the meantime, thanks for helping share this opening day fishing message from DNR Secretary Cathy Stepp through embedding the video on your web site or providing the link to readers.

Also, thanks for letting your readers, viewers and listeners know that DNR has updated its free fish and wildlife app to have a full range of fishing information and more watchable wildlife information. Karl Scheidegger from our fisheries program has worked very hard to supply all kinds of information on fish identification, places to fish, regulations, eating your catch, and fish information.

Download the app now.

Hope you have a great weekend, Lisa
