There is alot of activity on the lakes.
Island has produced some nice crappies using waxies or small leeches.
Long lake has had a lot of activity in northern and panfish.
Using large minnows for the northen,
we're selling a lot fo Bass baits, Lunkerhead frog, Spro and Strike King.
Heard a guy talk about a muskie on Benoit, but "it got away" The DNR web page shows that they stocked it with Muskies in 2005,2007,2009 and 2011.

Fishing has been good for the most part here in Washburn County the past week. Bluegills are up shallow and spawning, offering a great opportunity for folks to catch an easy meal of good eating fish. Walleyes are bitting good on slip bobbers and leeches in 7 to ten feet of water in the evenings. Small mouth bass are just about done spawning, but a few can still be caught sight fishing gravel flats.
