12/11/14- Reported by Long Lake Bait & Tackle
Ice condition reports coming in are in the 2"-8" range with an inch or two of slush. The ice is pretty clear. We are expecting temps in the 40's this weekend, but to stay in the mid to high 20's at night, so hoping to keep what we have! Fishing on the lake has been good in the mornings and evenings with fish in depths of 8'-20'. Folks are catching pretty much a little bit of everything: Crappie, Bluegills, Walleye, Northern with a variety of baits ranging from Spikes & Waxies to minnows. We have a varies of minnows: Crappie, Fatheads, Walleye & Northern Suckers, as well as both medium & large Shiners.
12/11/14- Reported by Stone Lake Bait & Tackle
Ice reports are ranging from 8-13 inches on most lakes in our area. More and more ice shacks are showing up every day as well as ATVs and snowmobiles. It's a little too early for vehicles Walleyes are very active along weed lines in about 8 feet using walleye suckers under a tip up. Northerns are hitting large suckers and shiners too. Use waxies on a jig for crappies and blue gills. One report we had was that they are suspended at 15 feet at 30 foot depths. Continue to use safe practices and be cautious on any ice. Good fishing!
