5/31/14- Reported by Stone Lake Bait and Tackle
The crappie bite has really picked up noticeably and angler's seem to be finding them everywhere. They're in the shallows spawning and then the next report is that they're being caught in 18 feet of water. The best live bait is a crappie minnow and a 1/32 ounce jig with a plastic tail is very effective as well The hottest color going is a hot pink head with matching body color. The weed line continues to become more noticeable which is improving the walleye bite as angler's like to tip a jig with a fathead minnow and work the edges of the weeds. The warmer water is proving to be making leeches much more productive for walleyes too. Be safe and Good Fishing!
