8/6/14 - Reported by Stone Lake Bait and Tackle
Hot pink seems to be the color of choice for nice crappies. Simply fish a Tattle Tail 4-5 feet under a bobber along the cabbage weeds in 8-10 feet of water. It has been fairly common to get walleyes with a leech or fathead minnow on a jig in the same areas. Very nice sized smallies are being had right of the docks in just 2-4 feet with spinner baits. Trolling a Mepps spinner can get you some feisty pike and any color seems to be effective. The musky hunter's are reporting very slow activity and most fish being boated are under 40". Stay safe and good fishing!
