Extended Growth Walleyes Released In Chippewa Flowage
Extended growth Walleyes we're put in the Big Chip today.
Today we stocked 3600 extended growth Walleyes at Deerfoot Lodge
They were beautiful vigorous fish that dispersed rapidly.
Here they are coming out of the PCV. tube at Deerfoot
We also stocked 3600 at the Hay Creek boat launch
Here are some beauties going into the "Big Chip"
Al McElroy was there to assist with the stocking too.
We had several folks come to watch the stocking at both sites.
Marlen Kaiser helped too.
This is Mike Gollon one of the family owners of Gollon Fish Farm that raises
the Walleyes in Dodgeville, Wi.
Walleye Max was there to take pictures.
They really come flying out of the tube!
The fish hit the water and were gone, the were extremely lively. A very nice sized Walleye, hopefully he will grow to make someone very happy and provide them a great dinner someday. We will stock more on Thursday & Friday, 23,000 total. The DNR will be stocking somewhere between 38,000 & possibly more next week in the Chippewa Flowage. A minimum of 61,000 extended growth Walleyes will be stocked into the "Big Chip" this fall alone and this does not include what LCO who will also be stocking! This is going to have a huge impact on our Walleye fishery in the future.
