Black, minority Trump supporters censored by Gannett, other media at 2020 RNC Convention. Expect the same as Milwaukee hosts 2024 RNC Convention. Look back four years Wisconsin, to compare and contrast Gannett’s corrupt coverage of the 2020 Republican and Democratic National Conventions to know what to expect July 15-18 when the nation’s eyes rest on Milwaukee, home of the 2024 RNC convention.  The DNC will showcase its conventi...

Dave Duwe Delavan Lake 8/4/14 through 8/11/14

Due to the colder than normal water temperatures, the fish are shallower than normal.  The best bite on the lake has been on a medium sucker fished on a lindy rig or Thill medium slip bobber.

Largemouth bass can be caught using 3 different methods.  They can be caught on black and blue jigs fished under the docks, a slip bobber rigged medium sucker or a split shot rigged nightcrawler.  The best location is where there are holes in the sand and the fish have ample opportunity to ambush the bait.  Usually this time of year, the fish are in 15-20 ft of water but the cooler temps have moved them shallower than normal so look for them in 6-8 ft of water.

Northern pike fishing has been pretty average.  They are still not on the deep weedline so most of the action is coming in 10-12 ft of water.  They are aggressively hitting medium suckers fished on a Thill big fish slip bobber.  The best location has been by the Yacht Club, just east of Browns Channel or west of Willow Point.  You want to position the bait one foot above the weedline.

Bluegills are off the weedline in 15-20 ft of water.  They are being caught on split shot rigged leaf worms straight beneath the boat.  The best location is just west of Browns Channel or by Assembly Park.

Walleye fishing has been relatively slow.  There are a few fish being caught at night.  They are being caught on weedless jigs.  A good choice is Bait Rigs Weedmaster jigs in 1/8 oz.  Leeches are the best bait.  Look for them by Delavan Lake Marina or by the island on the west end of the lake.

Good luck and I hope to see you on the water.  For guide parties, please call Dave Duwe at 608-883-2050
