Central Wisconsin Outdoor Report
Cooler water temps now in the mid 50 degree range have all species bulking up for the ensuing winter months. The musky bite has really turned up a notch with multiple fish days being the norm. A lot of activity on jerkbaits and rubber along with action from deep diving crankbaits. The walleye bite is outstanding and it is only going to get better and better until ice-up. Most of the action is coming from the deep pools in the main river system and along sharp break lines on the main lake. A lot of guys are still targeting panfish and the crappies have been responding well to small jigs tipped with minnows under slip bobbers suspended 4 to 7 feet down over deep water. Deer hunters have been seeing quite a few does and yearlings on the fields along with a couple of small bucks. But as the season progresses get ready for the big bucks to start making themselves more present. I also did some checking on my food plots that were put in by Jim Reed of Reed and Hoppe's Wildlife Food Plots. I am happy to report that the food plots look exceptional with outstanding growth and they had multiple deer browsing early in the day including one nice buck.
