Central Wisconsin Outdoor Report
It has been another fantastic week here in Central Wisconsin. The fishing has been very good for all species with panfish taking the top spot again for consistent action. Walleye and pike have been fairly active with some pretty decent ones being caught. Most of the panfish are being caught by jigging in shallow water with tear-drop style jigs. The pike and walleyes have also been rather shallow with most of the fish being caught in less than 10 feet of water. We have picked up a few stragglers out over deep water but they were suspended well off the bottom.
The Central Wisconsin Boat and Fishing Show is this weekend in Wausau at the Patriot Center. Make sure you stop on down and see the guys at Amherst Marine as they will have on display 2018 Aluminum Fishing Boat's from Crestliner, Pontoon Boat's from Sylvan Marine and Deck Boat's from StarCraft Marine. They will be ready to answer all your questions and help you out with your new boat purchase! Show hours are: Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 - 3 PM to 8 PM, Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 - 9 AM to 6 PM, and Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018 - 10 AM to 4 PM. http://fishingboatingoutdoor.com/springss.html
The 2018 Bear tag recipients have been posted and you can find out if you received your kill tag by looking up your status on the DNR website. We are now taking hunters for the 2018 season so if you need a guide in Zone; “B” or “C” we have stands and availability on private land.
