Ashland Outdoor Report
January 3, 2019
Carolyn from Anglers All reports: Some people have started ice fishing the S-Curve and Bono Creek but keep in mind this is new ice so check your way. They are walking and taking machines on the Ashland side of the Bay with reports of 8 to 12 inches of ice but ask ahead before venturing our with machines! The Washburn side of the Bay is ice covered, but this is newer ice. Nobody is fishing beyond Bono Creek right now. Call us at Anglers All and we will give you an update on what we are hearing about the ice condition. We advise you to spud your way. Be smart, call ahead. Know the area you are ice fishing. Bring your ice bar and safety equipment including flotation equipment at all times. Hopefully, the weather will continue to make ice. There are people fishing the Inland Lakes in both Ashland and Bayfield County and they are catching fish! Check for safe ice at all times!!! Be cautious.
River Rock reports: There are some Anglers walking out on the Ashland side of the Bay with reports of 6-8 inches in spots. However, you need to check your own ice as you go. There is fresh snow now. Be cautious. There are people walking out on the
S-Curve and catching some nice Browns, Splake and Cohos. The Washburn and Bayfield side of the Bay does not have good ice right now. The Inlands have fish able ice on the smaller lakes and there have been reports of nice Crappies being caught using waxies, golden shiners and fathead minnows. Continue to be smart and be safe!!!
