Ashland County Fishing Report

River Rock Inn & Bait Shop, Located at 1200 W. Lake Shore Drive (U.S. Highway 2), in Ashland and Scott Bretting Reports:
Trolling has been phenomenal!!! Hot spots have been the Coast Guard Dock, the Shore of Long Island, and Big Bay Point off of Madeline Island where the water is looking clear. Anglers have been catching nice Browns, Lake Trout, Coho’s, and Steelheads. Scatter wraps have been a good bait to use.
Small Mouth Bass were on fire last week!! They are starting to get up in the shallows where the water is clearing. Tube jigs, rubber worms, wacky worms and sucker minnows have been good steady baits to use.
Walleye are starting to show up near the Power Plant and Pig Iron Areas. As the water clears they should be by 2nd landing.
Shore fishing has been great with a mixed bag of fish being caught.
Inland fishing has been good all around. Musky fishing has been great along with nice catches of Crappies. As the water temps continue to warm the bite will get even better.
The Crappie bite on the Inlands has been more active as the waters are getting warmer.
