9/29/14 Price County Fishing Report
Rising water temps have seemed to stall the fish bite a little, Customers were still reporting catching a good number of fish the last week but they did comment that the bite was a tough one.
Ross's Sport Shop Guides were still putting clients on Musky, I had the pleasure to take a number of clients out the last week and we had at least one fish in the boat every trip. Most of our musky are being taken on Suckers and Quick Set Rigs after they follow a lure to the boat. Remember that it's a state law that you need to use a circle hook or a quick set rig on any live bait 8" or bigger.
The Crappie bite has slowed, they have moved tight to the bottom and have become less active, If your lucky enough to find some suspended Crappie you do have a really good shot of getting them to bite. Live bait seemed to have out fished plastics this week.
The walleye bite has been good right at dark and again right away in the morning, We have been finding them fairly shallow yet at those times of day. An 1/8 ounce Bottom Feeder Tackle jig and a fathead have been producing most of the Walleye in my boat.
Pictured is the big musky in my boat last week, Dave captured and released his first musky and biggest fish ever with me on a trip that he won thru a local fundraiser
