5/20/14 - Reported by Stone Lake Bait and Tackle
It looks like the crappie bite has finally turned on! They are done spawning in most cases and are transitioning to deeper waters and favorite hangouts. Crappie minnows and fatheads as well as plastics are all effective. The walleyes are around 15-18 feet and are hitting jigs tipped with a fathead. There are new growth weeds beginning to show so finding your favorite weed line will be getting easier. With warmer temperatures on the way we'll see water temps increasing and leeches should become more active in the warmer water. Night crawlers have been working well too. Have a safe and successful Memorial weekend on the water. Good fishing!
